The Villanova University Alumni Association is fortunate to have the support of wonderful chapter leaders who work hard to provide events and programs for alumni and parents in their local regions.
He started out as a player and later went on to coach the teams and still remains very involved in the program. Rod sees the CAN program as a great way for new alumni in the area to connect with other alumni, meet friends and develop networking connections.
Staying active in the DC Chapter and sharing his experience in the alumni network helped him become acclimated in a new city. He encourages alumni in the area to become involved and stay connected to see what the chapter can offer them, and in turn how they can give back to the Greater DC Chapter and Villanova University.
Like Rod, MaryEllen found the Greater DC Chapter a valuable resource to meet new friends outside of graduate school and work after moving to the area.
She stayed active as an alumnae in the local chapter community because her Villanova experience was so special —particularly her service trips with Campus Ministry.
The chapter offered a way to stay connected to the University and gain many new friends who have had similar experiences and want to extend that into their lives in DC. Chapter programs offered an opportunity to share her experience as an adult leader on a service experience in Morgantown, West Virginia.
During her time with the chapter, she has raised money for the Be the Match program, welcomed new alumni in the chapter and provided leadership for many important causes and events.
